No Turn-By-Turn Voice Navigation on my iPhone 4!

A friend of mine gave me a ride home recently.  We were not sure how to get from Point A to Point B so he fired up his iPhone 4S Maps App and got turn-by-turn voice directions.  No more GPS!  How cool!  I was so excited.  I have an iPhone 4 (no “s”) and could not wait to try it.

To my chagrin, I was woefully disappointed to learn that this very cool GPS-like feature only works on the iPhone 4s (or better).  Thanks Scott Forstall, Apple’s ex-head of mobile operating systems!

Shortly thereafter I came across the MapQuest iPhone App for turn-by-turn navigation.  Thanks MapQuest!
